It's a Teisco bass, the metal nub between the strings was for a bridge cover.

Looks like a Teisco. They were a Japanese brand that was sold in dept store catalogs in the 50s and 60s. My dad has a 6 string that same color.

Reminds me of my first "behs".
It started as a lyle eb3 ish copy, with a neck reminiscent of a twizzler! I then found some strangr fenderish copy of some sort and robbed the neck for the lyle! I was just a kid, knew nothing about stringed instruments, scale lengths, or intonation. But it DID have action you could drive a unimog under, so there's that! 😂

Looks like a Teisco / Silverstone 60s
I'm pretty sure the Starway guitar that Pete Shelley out of the buzzcocks had one similar a kind of guitar version. The fret markers give it away.

Defo looks like a late 60s Tiesco . Our singer Tommy Scott collects the guitars . And a few of them have that shaped headstock and the exact same Position markers .
My vote is a Tiesco
