Thief - Review

Thief has good stealth going for it, but everything connecting those scenarios is a mess.

well, that's a fair review.
i just beat the game, took me 20hours. did all side missions and stealthed through it all.
stealth is trully great in this game, i don't think they should change it one bit, lighting effects and the enviroment are two of the best things about this game.
but the reviewer is right, everything else is a mess, the map is horrible, loading screens to walk around the city is terrible, repetitive moves to interact with the enviroment was awful.. and the two last chapters are god awful, i mean really really bad.
that said, i can't wait to hop in again and try out different play styles. i got the Moral Victory achievement, now let's see how Garrett fairs as a crazy assassin.
and by the way, chapter 5, the one with the Asylum is the best map/area/level/chapter in any game i've played, trully inspiring game design there.

i actually liked this game, it was kinda like dishonoured but without the crazy magic powers to use, which i thought was pretty cool

I noticed that the reviewer, or whoever was playing the game, killed a lot of guards, which seemed to me to defeat the purpose of Thief, which is stealth, not assassinations. I saw Adam Sessler's review and the review on Machinima, and neither of them killed guards all that often, or even at all.

You guys shouldn't let IGN's review affect your purchase of the game. Just cuz THEY gave it a 6.8 and say the story is bad you don't buy it? If the game looks fun get it. It's just the one guy's opinion on the game and he just happens to work at ign

Kinda bummed a bit. I mean most of the negatives are small but for a 2014 game standards are kind of increased. Will try it regardless but not as high of hopes I had.

This game is decent in my OPINION. If you want a flat out fighting/action game, don't buy this. I've replayed it 3 times and enjoyed. It's a puzzle game, how can I get round that corner without being seen or heard? How can I grab that necklace without going through the front door? It's that kind of game. It's gotten a bad rap I think because people expected it to be an action game, it's really not.

This is one of the best games games i ever played, idk why ppl give such bad reviews for it, the only thing that would be a problem is some of the sound for me cause guards sometimes repeat the same thing over and over, but thats very small to me so i give it a 11/10
