When I was an Air Force brat in the 1980’s (I lived on a Strategic Air Command base. I didn’t think about nuclear war, even during the Cold War, even on a Strategic Air Command base, which would have been one of the primary targets if the Cold War ever turned nuclear, my dad was Senior Master Sergeant then.. After he retired we had to move to Oregon base housing was only for active duty Air Force and their families ) my family went to the air show every year ( we were in walking distance to the airfield (the base house was close to the airfield ) I actually saw a SR-71 on display. I also had a toy SR-71. I also have a small toy SR-71 which I bought on a Hawaii vacation last month

The "none conventual propulsion plants" that powered the TR-3b group of platforms from LocheedMartin Skunk Works and the Airforce Research Laboratory from the late 90s traveled in excess of 17, 450 mph and maxed out around 25, 000 mph. They could have traveled faster but it was the situational awareness and radar that caused the byproduct of an unsafe environment in avoiding other aircraft and airborne objects at those speeds, this was finalized in 1996. More than likely this issue has been resolved in the descendant programs, "PumpkinSeed" and "Little Mouse" especially with the material science of the airframe and plasma eclectic META skins that are briefly touched on for the SR aircraft, NGAD/FA-XX programs in this video.

SR-71 switched engines and installed Ram Jet engines [ Mach 6] SR-72 has Scram jet engines [Mach 10 +].. TR-3 antigravity has nuclear plasma engines
