How To Undercoat Your Car With Fluid Film

In this video I show you a basic tutorial on how to undercoat your car with Fluid Film. Fluid film is a lanolin based rust and corrosion preventative. I used Fluid Film's professional spray gun it comes with 3 1qt bottles, 2 different hose extensions, and the gun itself. You will need an air compressor to use the gun. Any compressor over 10 gallons will run this gun. I use about 1qt to about 1.5qts of Fluid Film per vehicle depending on the size of the vehicle and the amount sprayed. The vehicle that I am spraying in the video is brand new with about 150 miles on it. I plan on giving yearly updates about the condition of the vehicle before an application every year. Fluid Film cleans up with water and does not harm most rubber like waste oil. Fluid Film is environmentally friendly and biodegradable. Here are links to a couple types of Fluid Film and a couple of spray guns if you choose the liquid version. Thanks for watching.

Yotve can use it on brake lines and rubber hoses. I've been using it for decades with no swelling of rubber.

I think I have watched every tutorial on applying Fluid Film and must say you have the best one. You are articulate/knowledgeable, which is enhanced by great quality video. I don't have a lift, so I find doing it on a grass surface makes moving around a lot easier + less messy on overspray too, as does using ramps for better access. I have a few things I do which seem to help, like using a heater to get FF to a viscosity that makes spraying move effective, especially on a cool fall day. Other things I do, like using my drill with attachment to mix it well and using a light is a must have if you don't use a lift.

P.S. You have a new subscriber.

Nice work. Good clear instructions. I like that you removed the spare tire, and you wore a mask. A buddy of mine sprayed cars for years with all kinds of products. Now he's battleling leukemia.
The best job I have seen applying undercoating the body shop removed the interior door panels. He likened it to painting a bedroom with your arm through the window.
You should consider an exhaust fan to clear the air.

Best to put on in late fall for here where I live in Altantic Canada. 3 years can rust out a rocker pannel on New cars. We drill the holes in and shot the rust coat inside any place we think will rust. It Makes a HUGE difference and better then Rust check. We also see RAW salt being put on our roads. Because we get a lot of Ice storms. This stuff has saved many of my cars over the past 30 years. Spray it on. Drive on a dirty dusty road. It will not wash off so easily esp in once the temp is below 5 degree C. 40 f.

Best video so far on FF. I shot some FF in spray cans, but getting the wand to apply it from cans to get into my frame rails on my 2001 4Runner. The best stuff for rust, low odor and no solvents!

Just did my 2019 4runner, with all the same tools, minus the lift. It was alot easier than I was anticipating. Paid $89.50 for the kellersport gun, no complaints.

Nice video man! I see so many vehicles where it's just caked on and super thick, less is more when using this stuff, great tutorial!

interesting. A question for you: since it comes off with water, it means it'll come off in a normal car wash?

Should try Amsoil HD Metal Protectant - it's not oily, it leaves a thin wax like coating that does not wash off and does not attract dirt.

Great informational + tut video. I've been using Fluid Film for a couple of years now and am very happy. Except I have ti lie on my back on a creeper to get it done. A car lift and a bigger garage would be really nice.

I agree with other comments, best explanation on how to, and where to...👍👍 You did remember to spray the frame where your lift pads sat?

Does anyone do this without a lift? Seems like a nightmare otherwise.

Great video!

A cheaper alternative would be to buy a Subaru. All the oil leaks coat the frame and BOOM, free rust prevention.
