Hello and welcome to another #30DaysofHoya! As promised, today you get a more beautiful plants - let’s try to forget that sad looking Hoya imperialis. Today we take a look at Hoya australis. In this video, we will look at both Hoya australis ssp. tenuipes that I believe is more common and easier to find, as well as its cultivar ‘Lisa’. We will take a look at Hoya australis ssp. australis with yellow margin on the leaves - a bit harder to find than the ‘regular’ H. australis, but still a very interesting (and a bit challenging) plant. I hope you will enjoy watching the video and learning more about this Hoya. As always, you can find the additional care sheet in the description below. Take care, and see you tomorrow for another interesting Hoya!

I love how you make sure not to touch new leaves on your hoyas. I am the same. When I watch people touch the new growth on their hoyas I am like: noooo.

My australis is growing like a weed. It grows faster than my crimson queen.. like triple the growth!!! I have had it for approximately 3 months and its grown like crazy. I'm a little surprised to be honest I was expecting it to grow quite slow if I didn't kill it first. Its in my kitchen in a west facing window with a metal awning over it so it only gets some evening direct sun. I am scared to water it though I have noticed the new growth feels a little delicate and flimsyish when it needs water I think? We will see im still learning. I got it as a cutting from a really big mother plant that my neighbor has. When she gave me the cutting I didnt know what it was I actually thought is was a weed because it was kind of ugly. I have grown to appreciate its beauty though. Lol. It is only my second hoya and I have not had the crimson queen very long either. I also got my crimson from my neighbor but that one is more established in a 6 inch pot. I am very afraid I am going to kill them..at least my neighbor is next door if I have issues. She's the hoya queen!! She has many different types hoyas its crazy. They are the biggest hoyas I have ever seen.

Thank you for the Australis info. I have one and want to do what is best for it. I will be so excited if any of my Hoyas bloom. I’m new to them and waiting patiently. Well, trying to.

The outer variegated Hoya in the small pot is Australis Blondie. I have one, and its growing insane amounts at the moment and thrown out about 20 new peduncles 😊

Thanks for the video. Only thing that tripped me out is the fact that you use the same song as Summer Rayne on her channel

I have a green Australis, it sure is a fast grower. No peduncles yet. I got a Lacunosa in the mail yesterday. It’s definitely stressed out. I watered it because it was dry, now I’m just going to leave it alone and see what happens.

really like your 30 days of hoya series!! I bought a large green Hoya Australis 6 months ago, everytime it pushed out new growth, the leaves ended up dried up and died :( trying to figure out why...

I was debating wether to cut it-and see if it will speed up the growth. I will also repot it in a larger pot. I love testing if in fact hoyas like being cramped in small pots. But I have seen that time and time again, the bigger the pot the more the hoya grows and especially grows bigger leaves. ( I was referring to the Australis lisa.) tha

My all-green australis is growing like crazy. My "Lisa" is a very slow grower. Whatever: I love them both!

Great info. I just got mine in the mail and it was quite wrinkly so I gave it water. Hopefully it will perk up and be healthy for me.
