I swear the hair industry sounds like a market for scams.

Reminder that you don’t have to buy every product for every little thing, sleeping like a normal person isn’t gonna make all of your hair fall out

I cannot sleep with my hair on my neck or where it can easily fall in my face. Hair has to be off my face and neck otherwise I'm just uncomfortable! I feel like this is a risk vs reward situation. The risk of my hair breaking excessively due to having it in a high, loose bun is just not worth losing good sleep over. For me anyways lol

I saw that whole video by JVN before this. Please note, he explains to put your hair up with a loose satin scrunchie to get it off your neck so your body heat doesn't ruin your style and to protect the hair from friction against your body and cause breakage..

I cannot sleep with my hair tied up. Even a loose poiny tail or bun makes me get a headache when I sleep. 😔 I move around so much, when I do sleep with my hair in a bonnet it's always off by the time I wake up.

One of the best decisions that I've ever made about my hair is sleeping in a Satin lined cap. My hair has grown so much and barely any breakage 🩷🩷🩷

The experts are discovering silk/satin bonnets, nice! Also for those who believe these are scams out of anything she has ever said (I've seen 3 shorts) this is the most universally legit doesn't matter your hair type or pattern or texture or density a bonnet is THE game changer.

Could you maybe also please include short hair in your suggestions bc it’s really hard to braid my hair plus idk if it will help my hair as much as longer hair. Thx 🩷🩷🩷

I have wavy hair, so no braids for me (ruins pattern => more frizz). And pineapple makes my temporal hair thinner (though I have never made it tight). Lately, I've been sleeping in a silk scarf with my hair free in it. Maybe it's more damaging than a braid, but it's more convenient for me

One thing no one speaks about: satin and even silk often has two different sides, one silky smooth (the one usualy used on OUTSIDE of the bonnet to appeal to customers) and mat/rough one, which usually is inside the bonnet. So my question is, shouldn't it be other way around? Shouldn't we be using silky texture on the inside or it doesn't matter?

Can you show us how your hair holds up in that low loose style? So show us the next day cause it definitely will upset stay in that's tule all night? Cause mine is super messy and dangled after wearing it like that.... unless I'm just a super restless rough sleeper

I never really got this, but maybe it's just my hair texture or something. I always have more breakage if I sleep with it tied up. I tried loose buns, loose twists, braids, it literally feels like hay by the time I wake up. If I sleep with it loose, no problem, it usually even looks better by morning, with more volume and waves. I don't care much, to be honest, because most of the damage in my hair is due to my obsessive hair pulling (and I never style it in any way, I just let it do its thing), but I keep getting advice like this online and try it from time to time.

I'm starting to use a hair net: I have plenty laying around, loose hairstyles kinda create frizz on the top of my head (most of my breakage is there since I do a lot of wet styling) and it creates waves and bends which is not what I always want and they might be more comfortable in summer than a satin silk or polyester cap or scarf
When doing wet sets I get my best results with satin scarfs so I'm gonna see what it looks like on unstyled hair but they feel really uncomfortable for me for some reason I haven't tried a full-on cap yet, it's definitely part of my to do list

Covering my hair while sleeping made it go from dry and frizzy all the time to finner and hydrated, I always wondered why it was so dry

I mean this could work for others not for me cuz my hair Tangles up MORE if I braid them or do any hairstyle

As a 3a/b curly girl, I found the silk bonnets crushed my curls overnight. However, the pineapple method with a satin/silk scrunchie has been a game changer for keeping my hair healthy and my curls happy - I recommend it!

I use a bonnet! How do you keep fine hair straight while wearing a bonnet?

In my case, it’s from my cat walking on my hair. I’ve just bought a silk sleeping cap to hopefully prevent any more walk-induced plucking.
