Ford is pushing me away with the ridiculous pricing paired with lengthy build times and the current interest rates. And, a few friends in the business have told me that Fords new strategy in conjunction with dealerships is to maintain these exorbitant prices by no longer building enough to have trucks on the lot in all the trim levels so you can actually enjoy the buying experience. We used to enjoy going to the lot and seeing the different trim levels to help us decide on what we like the best. The are using our current situation to strangle us into this new system, which will be like buying a Ferrari and require ordering every truck so you have to pay MSRP, no more negotiating. You look at a video or a friggin picture and just pick one and order it as it takes 4 to 8 months to receive it and by then, the next model year is out. People like me, who are just retiring and looking for a tow vehicle to use to enjoy life are not able to keep up with this pricing strategy. Pure greed as Ford and the dealerships are taking advantage of the economy and pushing out people like me.
