One of the reasons why I like Ryan so much is because not only is he informative, he's also motivational as well. Thanks for hyping me up!

I entered the rat race when I graduated at 21. Currently 30, just decided a couple of months ago, to work my ass off to pay off debt, build wealth and retire by 40.

I wish they taught us in schools different lifestyles versus just working 40 hours a week to live for the weekends.

This year I turned 43, with 22 years in the railroad I've been working for. I started to really feel the job was sucking the life out of me last year, and was stuck paying on bad debt I acquired over the years, as well as a house payment. In 8 years I will have my 30 year pension locked in at 51 years old, and though that's not "early" retirement for some, I haven't seen one coworker do it in the 22 years I've worked for this company. They all talk about it, but all work until they are 60-64 trying to pay off their loans, put their kids through school, and have nice cars. Back in June I sold my house as well as a lot of my things. I paid off all my dumb debts and loans, invested $20k in dividend stocks, and am renting a cheap apartment. If and when this real estate bubble bursts, my plan is to buy a duplex and live in it. I have 8 years to build a dividend income high enough to survive on, while I transition into my own company in my early 50's (safety net). At 60 my dividends will just be travel money, because my railroad pension will be $50k a year. I wish I saw videos like this 10 years ago or I would have got down to business earlier.

I actually feel so lucky, that i have kind of experienced "the rat race". During my first internship last year . Now i have learnt plenty of useful skills and i am on my way to be financially independent.

This is by far the best video you’ve ever produced

10:42 so basically resumes doesn’t matter, working a job doesn’t matter anymore. Getting out the system and having our investments and assets pay for everything is the true dream!

100%. Gonna go full self-sustaining, off grid and sell all my belongings.

Right on Ryan. I was able to retire at age 51 after working 30 years for GM. Along the way, I was able to save over $300, 000 in my 401k account that was invested in stocks and bonds. I also receive a pension from my former employer as well. You are wise beyond your years and on the road to success. Thank you for the video.

Excellent advice! Last fall I quit a job that I had me stuck in the rat race mentality for almost nine years. I'm getting the heck out of Washington, DC and relocating to South America later where I can have a decent standard of living for a third of what it would cost in the U.S. I'm also planning to use my savings to start a business. When you think independently and got plenty of energy, working a 9 to 5 in a toxic environment is the last thing you need. Life is too short.

I would also included not having children as another step to escape the rat race, Ryan. Having a child or more not only does a number on your money and expenses, but raising a child will also take a lot of time that you could be spending for yourself for life goals and travel.

I spent 24 years in the rat race, left 6 months ago. Will have my house paid off within a year. I consistently saved and invested around 30% of my take home pay. Did 401(k) contributions too.

The main thing is to take risks, create more income streams ‼️

Another benefit is that you control how much money you make, not you're employer. Trying to get out of the rat race is hard, but you need to put in the work and be consistent about investing to be rewarded later.

Being a software developer, this is essentially what I'm working towards. Looking for a multi-unit house atm -- though there isn't much out there. Hopefully soon enough!
