If you want to get into robotics, this is the best project to start with!

We have thoroughly discussed each component that goes into a servo, and how to use it.

I hope you follow along and make your own servo to learn about robotics!

If this feels a bit over your head and you want to learn about arduinos first, I don't have any of my own videos to point you to, but you should:

Check out @Afrotechmods and @freethepotato to get started with microcontrollers and electronics!

I think it would have been good to pull apart a standard 9g servo and see what's inside. I liked the way you broke down the different components - they definitely need a video each!

2:11 this is so true I’ve been struggling to find a cool electronics/robotics project to work on for this exact reason (that and I can’t decide between a vector thrust model rocket or a robotic arm/hand as my main project to learn towards)

I'm running power into Arduino through the Vin pin which I believe is then ran through the regulator? It can supposedly take up to 12V I believe. I had a few issues initially because I was using some crappy AC/DC power supply from China which wasn't putting out enough current for the Arduino to stay on

Thank you for the video. It may have taken a bit longer but going into a bit more detail on the encoder would have helped. :)

Can’t you plug regulated 5V into the “5V” pin instead of the barrel jack/“vin” pin to bypass the regulator?

make an advanced tutorial for the same topic please, where you implement the controller using time difference equation, sys id and stuff, like in a proper way, just an idea

Enjoyed the visit with you and your family. After you left, I became subscriber 145. Why the aka Alemander that you are using. Did it start as someone's typo and you decided to answer to it? The "m" key on the keyboard isn't close to the correct letter key.
