Would it be a bad idea, for my joints, if I wanted to jump rope with ankle weights on my ankles?

Thanks for the video tutorial. On my end, I am having a terrible time spinning the rope with consistency. I'm keeping both arms in, but my forearms are moving way too much. I think my hands might be too high. Either way, I cannot maintain a consistent rotation when just using my wrists. Because of my lousy technique I can only go 30 to 45 seconds before getting arm fatigue. I also notice as the fatigue sets in my left forearm starts to drop as I'm spinning the rope; the forearm is dropping and moving behind my backside. I see you're using weights on each wrist and I'm wondering if that might be helpful for my form? I am thinking it would force me to drop my arms and it would help build up stamina.
