It was a scary start to Chris Torizzo’s New Year. At the age of 40, with no family history of heart disease, the trail-running, mother of two starting feeling symptoms that her husband looked up online and thought might be women’s heart attack symptoms.
“I woke up and felt nauseous. I started having all these symptoms—my back hurt, I was sweaty—I knew something wasn’t right,” says Torizzo, a Kaiser Permanente member and employee in Colorado.
