I think the abuse have been going on for a long time… they don’t like to go to court just pay out to victims

So all laws were kept, the LDS Church did all things in its power to help things along, and instead of going through a legal lawsuit that could have gone either way, they sought to settle outside of court like 97 percent of all legal cases. Her father was excommunicated, and so on and so forth... I don't see what the big news is here.

Religion is not at fault for the abuse, it's evil people within it that use religion for their nefarious deeds.

The church is there to help people repent with confessions, hopefully in the beginning stages. The spiritually sick won't seek help unless they believe it's confidential. The church did excommunicate him, which means he would have to not be able to participate in many ways of worship for a year which can make wise people cautious. She can also warn people she knows, especially in her family, and take it to the police.

Why now? How come she didn't report it when she was little? According to her, her father confessed to several people in the church, why didn't any of them report him to the authorities when it was happening? Why wait for so long to even get justice? How come the mom didn't say anything while it was happening? Its a good thing he her father was excommunicated from the church but, why wait so long ? Why now?

Why are they panning videos of the Salt Lake Temple for this story? This sounds like anti-propaganda to me. What are they not telling us about this story?
