This song, similar to Dutch, sounds funny but there is a deeper meaning to it. This song is about young people leaving their hometown to go to the city (or even to a different country) in chase of better life. It is a common situation in Croatia (and entire Balkans). I would suggest that you check out music video, it has a slightly different vibe and an ending which is not a part of the performance, i guess due to time restricitons. Even one of the most memorable lyrics "Meow cat, please meow back" is quite sad if you think about it, as he might never get to see his cat again.

As someone who left home at 19 and left parents, friends, a pet (who indeed I never saw again) this song does bring some heavy emotions, but it's hella catchy and entetaining as well.

From what I've gathered about BL so far, every aspect of the song is deliberate and carefully thought out.
Through his stage presence, he is addressing a serious Croatian problem – emigration – but in his own unique way, incorporating elements like cows, meows, and screams into the lyrics and performance to make it an enjoyable song, as otherwise it could be too sad. He also blends tradition with a modern (crazy) society. 🙃 The performance is kinda mesmerizing and compels you to watch it repeatedly, and, of course, again and again. 🌀⚡🌀Therefore, he is just one – woooow – dude! 🥰🌬💣💫🤘😎
Hopefully he will rim tim tagi win in MEOWmö 2024. 🏆

This is a song about our sour and bitter Croatian everyday. People can't live of their work, especialy in countryside, breeding animals and growing whatever. Even from cities, people becoming poorer and living of bank loans in general. Situations like that are forcing that the same people to leave Croatia and search for better life arround the world, mostly in Europe, because we can't live on payements that we are getting for our work. That is the sence of this song. Misery wrapped in shiny paper.

Lyrics are the strongest part once you understand them. Read them somewhere and do not pre-judge based on parts you understand during singing. Also, he is not so much off key, it is a way to sing rock. Plus, the guy is genuin, sweet, humble, polite, etc. If you really want to know why he is among main contenders, check his story and how he got into this. By the way, so far your country does not have a great standing to get good result this year. Majority of ESC fandom think NL song thsi year is a flop. Hi there TaunT. I'm quite a big fan of the Baby Lasagna (BL) and very fond of the overwhelmingly lovable guy.
Having said that, I understand that this is not everyone's cup of tea and that's completely ok. And I strongly disagree with the hate comments you undeservingly got.
When it comes to singing, BL had said in many of his interviews that he was not much of a singer (actually that he has no singing experience as he's songwriter and musician) and basically this was his second or third live singing ever. He realizes he's got to work on it and he certainly will. Seems like quite of a perfectionist and I', m sure everything will improve great deal until May and that we'll see him slay! 😊
