This guy’s house must be the final challenge a postman must face before they can become postmasters.

"Does your dog bite?"
"No. He punches."

In Russia, this is a very common breed. But this is not a city dog, this is not for a city apartment. This dog should live outdoors. If there is a severe frost in winter, she will simply dig a hole in a snowdrift.
This is a dog with a very strong character and independent, it is able to act without your guidance. Its owner must have a strong character to maintain his leadership.
This dog is the best guard for your farm, she will not be afraid to fight with a pack of wolves and drive the bear away. If you need to protect your farm or your livestock, she is ready to fight even with Satan.

My baby Niko was a Caucasian…and he was the sweetest baby in the world. He became something of a celebrity in our neighborhood due to his size, people were terrified of him…but after they got to see just how sweet he was…oh the loving he received. I was leaving one morning to go to work and two cops are outside my house looking in my backyard…I thought perhaps he had gotten out..no. They were there just to see this gigantic 207 pound dog.

My parents had one of these dogs since I was born and we had him untill I was 12. I remember sleeping with him in my bed and the dog pulling me on a sled during winters. I was depressed for almost a year when he passed away, do to old age. He was the best dog ever, to me he was just like family or best friend. I could not get over his passing, because until his passing I was with him since I was born until I was 12 and I spend almost 24\7 with him. The only time I wasn't with my dog was when I was in school, but otherwise he was with me non stop. It's been over 20 years since he passed and I still think about him almost every day. RIP Roly.

I am from Chechnya and these beautiful dogs come from our region and they have always lived on the Caucasian ridge. They have been used by shepherds against wolves for centuries. When I was little, we had the same huge dog, but completely yellow, which is why we called him "Yantar" which means amber. Just like a Lion😍 Unfortunately, he was killed by soldiers and thrown into the river..

Miss you Yantar...

Imagine some bloke breaking into his house and this bear of a dog tries to play and the robber thinks he's been attacked by a bear

I wanted one, but he apparently eats a buffalo, two postmen and 13 chickens per day. I couldn't afford it.

I've had this breed of dogs. Twice. They're EXTREMELY protective, and scary. But very beautiful, loving, caring, and extremely playful and active.

Had the pleasure of getting to know a brother and sister pair of these back in 1989. Very loving with the immediate “pack” of humans. But showed aggression toward outsiders. Great guard dogs they were. But they would warm up to strangers as long as they didn’t feel threatened. The male became my good friend and I am grateful for the short 4 years that we knew each other.

My grandmother had one in 20 years ago. Rural Eastern Europe. Some of her chickens were started missing 3 or 4 each time she checked. A fox came for them every few nights. I've told her to let the 6 months old untrained, neglected Macko(Caucasian purebred) out to protect the chickens. Well, it wasn't a good idea, little Macko(means bear cub) got the fox, snapped its spine, opened it up like it's nothing. But also has killed 12-14 chickens.
This breed needs attention, control, training.
At least the gypsies stopped breaking in and stealing stuff. Caucasians are really good at their job.

Thank you for sharing. We had a visit from a Caucasian Shepherd the other day. I asked his owner if I could say hello...what a beautiful character! He was lovely! All he wanted was to be touched and chatted to. No bouncing (thank goodness!), just very chilled!❤

What a beautiful doggie! This man loves his animals. Watching that little Pug with his big mates is adorable. They are all so behaved.
