A Five Guys burger is undoubtedly delicious, but of course, that flavor comes at a cost: a big hit of calories, sodium, sugar and fat. But they may not be coming from the parts of the burger you think they are, according to registered dietician and founder of Real Nutrition Amy Shapiro.

According to Shapiro, the burger patty itself isn't all that objectionable, especially when compared to the fat and sodium bomb that is the chain's hot dog. That said, you can easily turn your burger into a deeply unhealthy meal just by making a few choices that may seem innocuous. Here's the most concerning thing about Five Guys' burgers.

Ok, so we all know that Five Guys isn't the most healthiest place on the planet but who goes there on regular basis?, nobody I know...I, like most people go there once in a blue moon ...in a year if you go there like 6 to 8 times a year, you'll be ok...people go there for the taste and they're ok with it.

I had to have a Five Brothers burger recently. I hadn't been there since Covid started. I had two people with me and it was my treat. I ordered a single, fries and a drink. My friends ordered the double, fries and a drink. When all was tallied up they said that will be $74 plus change. I gulped, swallowed and choked. I had no clue that the prices had increased that much. I didn't even look at the prices when I ordered. This was Ruth Chris's steak territory. I was thinking I could get a bison burger at another place with fries and a coke for less than $20. I could buy ten pounds of ground sirloin and make it at home. The burger was good....not $15 good. The fries were better than the burger. This is not Los Angeles, Chicago or New York. I think they got the wrong menu. Needless to say that will be the last time.
