Nationwide tributes pour in for Muslim family killed in London, Ont. vehicle attack

Muslim communities across Canada are struggling to accept the hateful act that happened in London, Ontario on Sunday.

Salman Afzaal, 46, his wife Madiha Salman, 44, their 15-year-old daughter Yumna Afzaal and Salman Afzaal's 74-year-old mother, Talat Afzaal were killed while out for an evening walk when a 20-year-old man drove into the family with his truck.

Islamophobia is the expected motive of what police are calling a hate crime. The sole survivor, Fayez, 9, still doesn't know what happened to his parents, older sister, and grandmother.

Dawna Friesen reports on the tributes pouring in, and the trauma facing Muslims in this country.

It’s not an act of islamophobia, it is an act of radical Christianity that lead to terrorist attack on an innocent family.
Canadian PM, and other politicians except few didn’t even call it a terrorist attack. They labelled it as act of hate based on racism.
They all addressed the problem but didn’t have a solution to tell the audience. When speaking about racism it’s in the deepest levels of our governments, schools, work places, and unfortunately churches in Canada.
Not even one female Hijabi🧕 Police officer in entire country explains how racist our country and its politicians are. Rest you need no introduction about islamophobia in small town cities in Canada.

But i was wrong..many died, many harassed by soulless ppl...and in rage of anti-Muslims..a 20 years old killed a innocent family...ppl will heal from this incident after week, month or year...but boy will live in this forever without his parents and only sibling he had....so bottom line is...this soulless ppl are living among us...after this incident, there are many more incidents are waiting for Muslims...so be careful guys...if ppl don't find guns to kill...they find alternative solutions to use vehicle to kill...so take extra care of yourself...this incident will not stop here...for sure...if Sikhs and Hindus are also wearing traditional clothes for walking...these brainless ppl will think that you are Muslims...and might make you target....so now in these days...walk with your own responsibility 🤦‍♀️...so be sure and take extra caution for all those ppl who wear traditional clothing...your target is very near...when?...no one knows...
