Attack speed is highly important for the necro. It actually makes him summon skellingtons faster!

For battling (and weakening) the Lich, fill adjacent tiles to campfire with grooves, smity etc, so there are not as many lich palace tiles when the boss appears.. also save some Oblivion to erase palace tiles. So handy in the last chapter

I just beat the game in a completely blind playthrough. My essential strategy was to get 4 watchtowers, upgrade them all to level 2 (so that they all attack within 2 tiles of the camp on each side) and then stack tons of enemies near the camp. I used the Necromancer, when I unlocked forests, towns, and rivers, I ran the river in a zig zag fashion to maximize my surface area of the river. I only placed thickets and ignored the other one (because it gives 1/2 value) and always placed it near the river. Same with towns.

Always aim to keep your skeletal level around the same level or above your loop level. With the thickets on rivers, you should get a very nice attack speed which will allow you to summon skeletons quickly, with your town cards you should gain a few levels really quickly. Always take the perks that give you HP when a skeleton dies and the one that distributes damage among skeletons, then prioritize the additional skeleton and any other perk that gives you a longer term bonus. Aim for at least 3 skeletons and ideally you want 30%+ skeleton quality, but if you have the 2 good perks and at least 100% attack speed, skeletal quality isn't so important. That's the basics.

When I first started I died many times, but once I refined this strategy I basically steamrolled through the game. Use the chrono crystals near your camp with your watchtower upgrades. Use the bookery to swap out your crappy cards for others, aim for long term, always aim to place the thickets and better resource cards next to your river as that will be a 4x bonus over just placing a card just because you have it.

In my final playthrough I got over 430% attack speed so I was essentially summoning skeletons instantly, every time I got hit my damage would distribute among them, and if one of them died I gained life. With this strat, once you get rolling it's very hard to actually die as long as you keep your skeleton level high enough.

As somebody who likes to play Necro nowadays, I find the best strategy is to focus on healing and increasing max skeletons but the real trick is to increase attack speed so you can rapidly defend/heal yourself with summons. A good amulet will also give you time to summon/heal up before the enemies break it.
Max skeletons won't mean ish if they can't stay alive long enough for you to get there.
You'll want summon quality high enough so that you get a tank every 3-4 summons.
Once you manage to get about 5-6 skeletons on screen you will dominate almost every encounter (Harpies will put up a pretty hard fight).
The enemies that spawn from forest/thickets are free exp since they counter and it's your summons doing most the attacking

For the rogue, you want to flex outposts since you gain gear through trophies anyway

As there is a very important Tip missing i'd like to add it to your list:
- Never pick a trait after defeating a boss that seems useless, it's often even better to take resources

I really wish i knew that earlier as it messes up my endgame and i'm considering to start a new safe. ^^
(ps: this tip is especially important for the necromancer, as their own traits are super important for good runs of 30+ loops in ch4)

I'm still kinda new to the game I've played it for two days only I've unlocked the Rogue class but didn't really like it much so i kept going with the Warrior and let me tell one thing... Vampirism is freakin broken with a high damage weapon so is Evasion
I kill the first boss with a full Evasion build with an almost full heath bar !!!
