I love everything unless it restricts me from using what skills I have. I love all kinds of science because it's the study of how we work. And yes Chem is essential because chemistry is the study of what everything is made of and how they interact you need that to understand how that creates a system

Dang the "more chemistry" portion really messed me up. I am currently a Biology major ex Biochemistry major because I realized how much I loved Biology while chemistry overall bored me and was a means to an end. I also love multiple disciplines of biology (micro, physiology, genetics, etc.) so at the beginning hearing that Biotech had multiple focused disciplines I was like "FINALLY I FOUND WHAT'S RIGHT FOR ME as I've been struggling to pick a single discipline for a career and pursue in grad school. Knowing that it's primary chemistry (which makes sense) really crumbled my path to sanctuary and now I'm back to square one. But, I do appreciate the transparency at least now know before pursuing it and then becoming depressed because it's not what I wanted to focus on. I really just don't have a passion for chemistry and can't relate to it as much as biology but in order to do what I want to do in the world of biology it requires a strong primary foundation of chemistry. The dilemma of me.

This was super helpful!! I'm want to get into biotechnology since it seems really interesting but since I've been doing arts this whole time, I dont have as much support from my teachers as I could of if I was studying a science. Videos like this are really helping me with making this huge descision so thank you!!

1)What topics of chemistry should we learn before entering biotechnology?
2)what topics of maths should be good at?
3) which topics of physics should we be good at ?
I want to just give a rough look before entering, so please so mention

this was really helpful! thanks
but how can we improve our chemistry ? and how can we become a trainee when we don't know anything about the job?

hello, thx for the video. I have a question: So im really interested in Biology which is how i found out about this course, but im worrying about the chemistry part, since ive only had chemistry in school for a few years. In the B.sc, do we start with the basics again or is it necessary to know a lot of stuff about chemistry already?

So I’m thinking about biotech but I’m not really inlove with biology or chemistry. I’ve always wanted to study it tho and I’ve only took one yeah in highschool. So do you think it’s a good idea to major in it?

hello. First of all, I would just like to say thank you for making this video. It gave me an inside into biotech since it's something I just recently considered taking for my degree. So here's my dilemma, I've been given an offer to either continue my bachelors degree in Chemical engineering or Biotechnology. I actually applied for MBBS but was rejected and was given the offer of Biotechnology instead. I've done a bit of research on the requirements and what is to be expected academically. However, Im still unsure about its future prospect. Like whether it'll be relevant or high in demand in the future. and whether itll pay well. Cause Ive always been more inclined in Science (bio, chem, physics) rather than maths which is why Im hesitating on taking the chemical engineering offer. I know that we should always follow what your passionate about, but what im truly passionate about got rejected😂💁‍♀ So might as well pursue something that gives better prospect.

yeah, i was shocked to see that biology exams were like... 10 on 24? ahahahah, so much chemistry (4 exams: inorganic, organic, physical chemistry and industrial biotech, not counting two of biochemistry), 2 exams of IT, 3 of Statistics, 2 of analysis and physics. I chose biotech because i feared engineer was tough but jesus christ biotech is on the same level ahahahahah
PS: Im focusing on bioinformatics/industrial biotech, so i have way more chemistry and IT exams compared to other courses like medical or farmaceutical biotech
