That is a Beautiful Model A, Truely the most popular Ford or at least i think so. Very clever fix, anyone who has  or has had a model A has had this problem, I have. Always nice to see a great old A, your Dad should be proud of it.  As always, I enjoyed your video.

I had the rod linkages welded up then re-drilled so that it would pass its MOT. That was in the sixties. I loved my old Ford Prefect and had loads of fun with it. Simple to maintain and great to drive. I had several Fords including a Ford Popular, Ford Anglia, Ford 100E, Ford 105 Anglia and a Fordson Van. Cars were very cheap in the sixties you could buy them from £5. Those were the good old days. I am 76 now and still driving a Ford.

You could add a 2nd washer and offset the two slits of the washers so it would be less likely to bent at the slit. I bet that was fun working on an old car like that, really neat to see all that old and simple engineering.

I had a 1947 Ford Prefect which had rod brakes. The secret of good braking was to wear big boots. I rather liked the rod brakes, easy to adjust, no brake bleeding. If you looked after them and kept them well maintained they were good.

Now that I know how to do that, I can now go out and get me a Model A Ford with confidence on how to turn up a sticking brake pedal

Now I know how to fix this problem when they bring me one of these vehicles to repair, seems like every 50 years.
