Just want to say "Thank you" for your video. Yes, it's all 'in the book' but seeing it done makes a great difference. With the help and information you've provided here I very successfully gave my car a first class (all wheel) brake adjustment. It has been back on the road about a month after setting for 47+ years head and pan off on flat tires in 'Pops' garage. Back on the road as a daily driven OEM 'ride' Thank you again!

These two gentlemen are a great Model A Ford resource. I wish they would do more videos. U can see in the video these are experienced hands...All the best to you Model A Ford owners out there. I am a 38 or 39 year member of the MAFCA and I have a dozen various Model As including three 30 31 roadsters and 5 29 roadsters of which we are making one out of parts...we have two coupes, one of which is fully restored. and a sweet roadster pickup and best of all, a 28 2 door sedan! Cheers!

My 31 truck has all new brakes on it. I found that someone cut the rods too short. I now have all new parts and will be adjusting them this weekend with the help from this video. Thanks!

Just bought a 31 slant windshield town sedan, all original. Want to keep it that way but have worried about the brakes. Thanks to your video, I feel I can keep the brakes safely adjusted.

Nice video guys...Fun to watch you work and a good reminder on some of the important breaking issues on our Model A. There a few more things internally that have to be right and break rods themselves need to me positioned right also..Hope you do another video on the internal breaks and brake rods...The more of these kinds of videos the more fun we will have and its all a help to us!
Again a BIG

Thank you for this information! I live in Vermont where it is VERY hilly and almost had an issue today on the way home from work when going down a pretty steep hill. I will be doing this over the weekend!!

I have cable brakes on my old 30's Ford and they are some of the best brakes I've used on old cars and well up to modern driving.

The instructions for making the Brake Adjusting tool were published in The Restorer May/Jun 2000 Page 6 and in the "Model A Mechanics Handbook Volume 1" by Les Andrews.

Your videos have been a great help to me. I was considering switching my ford to hydraulic brakes, but with your help I am going to stick with the mechanical setup. What is your recommendation on the adjustment of the rod between the pedal and the center brake part? Thank you!

@inexconst I do not but if we or someone is doing a brake job in the Model A club i will be sure to video it.
