How To EXIT AN OPTION Trade Before Expiration On Robinhood

Here is the main thing you need to now: if you buy a call, and you want to exit this option you need to sell this call back. Also if you buy a put and later on you want to exit this option you need to sell this put back. When i say sell these back, I mean choose the same strike price and same expiration date.
You can close an options same day as you open it, but be aware, if if your account has less then $25000, this trade will count as a day trade.
For a cash-secured put or a covered call, it's a good practice to close them a few days after you open them.

Thanks for doing a short video. All of these other knucklehead on YouTube spend 30 minutes explaining what you said here. Excellent stuff.

I understand all this but the one thing that doesn’t make sense is why you cannot sell to close a call that you bought. So basically what I’m asking is why does it say you don’t have enough collateral like is it because there all being used for calls? If so then should I just only buy a call with half of the shares I own so that way I have enough collateral next time? PLEASE HELP

so if you sold a covered call, do you then have to buy the call to exit the option?
