Do buyers of electric vehicles having regret? It looks like most buyers are going back to gas cars. Rather than forcing the market to adapt to a government-mandated technology, the government should let innovation and competition drive the adoption of EVs. This will lead to more efficient and cost-effective solutions, rather than a top-down approach that will ultimately fail.

Why would you buy an electric vehicle? If you can't charge it at home that is their fault For not thinking ahead

Truthfully, about 50% seems reasonable. Some people decided to give it a shot to see if they liked it. Half said they'd take it. Half said thanks for the test drive.

Toyota thought ahead, saw these problems, and put their efforts into perfecting hybrids. The infrastructure for all electric is still decades away.

95% of the EVs sold in America are still on the road today. The rest were able to be driven home

Electric vehicles are those little things that children drive around the front yard on Christmas morning.

I feel like the best solution is Hybrid. Larger batteries with very small, extremely fuel efficient, gasoline engines to charge as you drive.

Electric cars are not for everyone, but if you live in a single-family home and have a charger in your garage, you are far more likely to be happy with the experience. If you drive a Tesla, you you also have access to the best charging network in the world. And now that other makers have signed on to use Tesla supercharger network everyone benefits. But having a level two charger at home is a must, without that it makes no sense whatsoever.

Lets not forget the cold weather drains the batteries super quick!

I said that before they ever got them off the assembly line I don't want one at all

I watched a video today about a guy who made a 400 mile trip twice, once with a Polestar and then with a Tesla.
Problems with the chargers that he plugged into at every stop made him switch to a different charger at the same location.
When fueling my car I have never had to move from 1 gas pump to another at a gas station.
Obviously the charging infrastructure needs more work.

mckinsey surveys are usually skewed, as someone that worked at mck there’s usually a client we’re trying to help behind said survey (ie gas giants)

but as a tesla owner, it’s been the best car i’ve ever owned, but i will likely get a cheap gas car just to have.

really...

I would be extremely skeptical of anything coming from McKinsey & Company. They have done some pretty “controversial” stuff in the past. Who payed them to perform this study?

Another reason people aren't aware of is the mining for the elements needed has proven toxic to the environment where the mining takes place. And the batteries are toxic to dispose of. EVs aren't doing the clean job they were hoped to do.

Not me. I loooove my Tesla. Now any gas car feels like a junk. I charge at home of course.

EVs have their place, my wife got a model y 5 years ago after driving 2 volvo station wagons in 26 years. She commutes to 3 hospitals, 2 in dowtown denver, we rarely charge it anywhere but home, so far, 90k problem free miles. But when we do long trips, we take our 17 year old land cruiser. The TMY is a great commuter car, great pep for stop and go driving.

When I can finally car shop in October, I'm NOT considering any EV. AT ALL. Since I gotta buy used, it's conventional all the way.

Buyers remorse for electric cars?
You don't say.. Seems like they should have taken these things into consideration before drinking the Kool-Aid. Once again, the consumer is the problem here, and not the manufacturer for making crap they think we want.

Electric isn't for the faint of heart. It works if you put your mind around it. I'm an EV owner, but I did my research and learned about everything before making my purchase.

And if they go through thermal meltdown in your garage, they'll take your entire home down as well.
