When my dad died when I was 19, I had a dream the night he actually died that I'll never forget. It was the back of a man's head, with long hair and olive skin. He told me that my dad is ok. That he is with Him and that he is no longer suffering. To this day, I know that it was Jesus consoling me. He was telling me to not be as sad because he is in the Kingdom of the Lord. I'll never forget His voice or his presence.

I had split up from my wife, who id been with for over 40 years, from the age of 15. I was lost and desperately unhappy and alone. On a camping trip with three of my oldest friends, i woke just before dawn, my friends were still sleeping. I said a hushed goodbye to them and drove a couple of miles to a cliff top overlooking the sea, with every intention of ending my life. I was not a religious person but my closest friend there was a Christian. We had discussed many times what he called his "epiphany " when he said that God touched his soul and forgave and healed him. I listened and respected what he said but told him that i had tried to believe but couldnt feel the way he did and that God never listened to my prayers and never spoke to me as he said God spoke to him. He told me that God was looking over me in my trials and had "left the door open for me" i just had to hear him and "see the open door".
I stood there looking out just as the sun had come up and was ready to die. But an overwhelming feeling came over me, i felt strongly like there was someone standing besides me, it felt like i had arms around me and i fell to my knees crying uncontrollably and i cried out forgive me lord forgive me. I sat there for an hour or more then returned to our camp. My friend wasn't there but returned a short while later, i asked him where he had been. He told me that he had woken up, troubled, and he had gone up a way up the mountain, to look out at the sun coming up and he had got down on his knees to pray to God to help his old friend, who was troubled and heavy laden. As he had been praying for me i was standing on the edge of a cliff top, about to end my life. My epiphany happened on that cliff top, with God's arms wrapped gently around me, and i had heard his voice.
