The original song is called "The Village" by Wrabel. It's a song about trans acceptance. As a trans person, it's incredibly powerful, and seeing all these young people, in their diverse glory, gives me hope for the future.

Alright, personal story: I was bullied all my life until I got a burn-out and ended up disabled.
I have autism, but I was only diagnosed FAR into my adult life. Always had problems until then, and even after that it was a struggle to find happiness and to find a way how to appear "normal" to people.
In my childhood I was beaten up regularly for being extremely pale skinned (that's why I hate that white people are called "wit" these days instead of "blank", because "wit" really implies that you are as white as a sheet of paper).
I also had glasses and was very skinny, more reasons to be bullied.
I was "different" in my way of thinking and talking. I didn't understand how to communicate with others normally. Also the teachers of my conservative christian school kept kicking me down, mocking me in public and refused to help me if other kids were beating me up again.
Hearing about a reunion party of the school a few years ago made me have a breakdown for 2 weeks straight.
Even in my adult life I was treated differently and when I got a job in a school, guess what? The kids bullied me like crazy there which caused the burn-out that I just mentioned. (Of course there was far more going on than just that, but this was a major contributor of my stress and depression.)

Now I am married and we have a lovely little also has clear symptoms of autism and who also very clearly has the same problems that I have/had.
I take him to therapies in other cities every day (and stayed with those sessions for 9 months in a row), and now also bring him to a small-scale school in a very decent little village away from my town.
In the street here he regularly gets bullied but when I notice that, I defend him like mad!
Today I spoke with the kids in the street to make them understand him better, and that seemed to have helped.
In his school he is doing amazingly well. In fact, there they barely notice him being any different than the other kids, because they know how to guide him correctly. I am so proud of him, and will do EVERYTHING to prevent that he will face the same problems that I have had. Life must have its challenges, but my life has been extremely unfair. I will teach him the insights that I have learned throughout my years of hardship in life, but will formulate it all as positive as possible. He is such a happy little boy and I want to keep it that way! Happiness should fill his heart, not hate and mistrust!
