That number 2 reason is why I prefer Euclid SCPs than Keter class ones. Too many world-ending shit gets old, it's 100 times better when you are dealing with something just utterly anomalous, not necessarely dangerous, just confunsing or mysterious.

I agree.
I remember a few times where people make an actual SCP that is way too over powered.
I've also seen people who make 15 year old researchers and O5 Council Members. It's idiotic, really. They write all about their character and the strengths, weaknesses, their friends. Everything under the sun.

I'm New SCP writer, a pretty young one and I wrote my first SCP a few months ago, following thoses instructions ( not from the video, we just have a writing guide on the french wiki that says the exact same things and even more ) and believe me : it works.

My scp so good that I have to hide till the right time. the O5 council is keeping a eye one me due (REDACTED) but its hidden in bad writing. Best way to hid it is in something no one will read.

This is reassuring because I have a draft that I'm working on and I'm pretty confident it avoids these problems. I recently had a burst of creativity from god knows where and I'm trying to put everything on paper... Or at least Google docs. What I'm more worried about now is not that there are any problems, but that it's not interesting enough.
