WidowMaker is the perfect term for it, it’s such an amazing car that I can’t help but buy it. Later the wife found out and yes yes. I slept in my car that night. Truly is a WIDOWMAKER.

Man . . . really nice Turbo. Had pictures of it plastered all over my high school locker and book covers. Don't sell it. Keep it and enjoy it; regardless under boost or not.

I was just thinking how sick this would look sitting on 5 spoke silver RUF wheels and you said it. Epic 🤘

Even just following this car down the back roads of western Washington is a thrill, thats how intoxicating it is. I remember the first time I finally got to hear it in person, seeing him roll up to the parking lot and park it right in front of me. It sounds SO GOOD, audio/video recordings cant quite do it justice.

Agree, you never take your hands off the wheel, always paid 100% attention, one mistake and it could be over. Its the only car I ever loved and feared at the same time.

That 911 is so badass, it blew down all the trees!!!
Beautiful!
Reminds me of a Hooked On Driving coach's 930. Guards red and mean as hell! 650 hp and man was it a beast. One lap on Thunderhill and my neck was done! It was constant G-forces: accelerating, braking, turning. Nonstop delta V!

I could listen to that door shut over and over, such solidity

Beautiful car. I own the same year 944 Turbo same color combination, pristine condition. I love driving it in boost, puts a smile on my face every time. I have a love/hate relationship with Porsches. Difficult to work on but a blast to drive.

Of all the exotic cars I have owned, and have, this is exactly like my first. Except for one little difference. I sent mine, straight from the showroom floor, back to Germany. To, "at the time, " was a very small 911 tuning shop . Here is a little list, of some of the modifications, I had them do.
1. Increased bore and stroke, as well as displacement of the jugs .
2. Removed the factory turbo and installed 2 bigger turbos.
3. Installed a larger and much more efficient intercooler.
4. Installed a higher pressure and volume oil pump.
5. Installed larger, injectors, with much faster cycle time.
6.They re mapped the fuel and ignition sequence.
7. Installed a 915, 5 speed transaxle.
8. Installed a modified pressure plate and a stronger spring recoil ring, in the clutch plate .
9. Installed 15" on the rear and 17 " on the front cross drilled, machined slot brake dust removers With, 4 piston caliper units. As well as a higher volume/pressure master cylinder.
New 18" rims .
10. Re ground camshafts, to synchronize and compensate for the larger bore and stroke, as well as the larger displacement. Also they needed to operate 48 valves, rather than 24.
11. Oh yeah. Converted the heads to accept 4 valves .
12 . With racing grade pistons. And higher volume flow, to all internal bearings .
13 . Installed a free flow exhaust system, that had an adjustable compression valve, as well as an exhaust dump .
14 . A few extra dashboard instruments
A pyrometer. Twin boost gauge units. Intercooler temperature, on both sides .
15. Stiffer shocks, was all I wanted done to the suspension.
16. Replaced original front chin spoiler, with a spoiler that had the massive oil cooler mounted behind black slit louvers. While each side had a funneling duct, that directed air to the front brake units.
17 . Last but definitely not least. There were 3 small badges attached to the exterior. 1 Replaced the Porsche crest, on the hood bonnet. The other 2, were placed right behind each front wheel well .
I am assuming that you car buffs, knew what kind of car I have, by the 2nd or 3rd modification.
RUF !!! It was one of the first 911s, that Alois modified.
On a dyno The HP went from about 294 to a massive 873 . Alois was elated and so was I.
The torque was so intense, at 1480 ft/lbs., that it actually worried Alois . Because it had the power. To literally candy cane the 2 drive lines . Maybe just throw the u joints through the rear fender, or worse.
When he called me, and told me that my rocket ship was ready to be shipped back to me . It seemed like it took 10 years for it to return. Actually it was only 2 weeks. Obviously I kept this car. I still have it 38 years later. I drive all of my cars, no matter how much they cost. They are meant to be driven, and driven hard, at that.
I think the last time I noticed, it had 32, 000 miles on it. What amazes me about this car. Is that it can still hold its own, with any and all of the new super cars, and so called hyper cars . " which I own a few " but hyper car is just a word term, made up by people who want to somehow place themselves in a higher class. You will never find me at a car meet, or anywhere near the snobbery, that drives million dollar cars, rephrase that, " attempt to drive " . I worked hard, got my hands dirty. Saved enough money, to purchase Bethlehem steels Eastern Kentucky division. It had an estimated 60-70 million tons, of super high quality bituminous coal reserves, that were thought to be mine able.
I leased out several blocks of coal, to be mined . I also mined myself. At one time I was Caterpillars largest customer. In 1990 I purchased 63 million dollars worth of surface mining equipment from them. That's not counting the 312 pieces of Cat mining equipment I already had. In all I had 7 surface mining operations going. While also operating 5 underground mines . That was filled with JOY EQUIPMENT, the best underground mining machinery ever built. Sadly the USA can no longer claim to have the best underground equipment as well as some surface. Mining machinery. The Japanese company Komatsu purchased
Joy global and Robbins, " if you aren't familiar with Robbins, " they are the company who manufactures tunnel boring machines. Such as those that carved out the Chunnel. Also
P&H equipment Letourneau equipment company. Which was the builders of the world's largest front end loader .
Folks, we are standing back, and allowing our greatest asset be given ( sold) to other nations. I'm now 54 years old, and I have literally worked myself to death . Both physically and mentally. I tried to go to every surface mining operation I had and work there 1 day a week. I usually ran a 992 or 993 Caterpillar front end loader. Loading overburden rock, into 777, 785 and 789 Cat. Rock trucks I loved what I done for a living. I knew and loved every single person who I employed. When my doctor told me, if I didn't slow down, I wouldn't be here another 5 years. But since I just can not slow down. Because I have always been full throttle or turn the key off. So I decided to quit.
Through 2 different sales . I sold every piece of equipment, and all the land and mineral reserves. The largest part was bought by T.E.C.O. and the other by F.P.L. Sorry for ranting about my life, that started out by me explaining my RU.F. 911
I Just had the urge come over me to explain how I came to be able to afford such cars. I loathe snobs and tree HUGGERS, those who are hypocrites not those who really have their heart in it I worked for everything I have . Because I know there are going to be jealous, envious ass wipes, that are going to say insulting comments about what I have, especially the ones who say that I am a lier. That I have made up a story. To your types I say a big. FUCK YOU, AND A LMFAO . Your kind don't know me, or anything about me. However to those who have some sense . That's why I put all the modifications in this comment. As well as a brief history of how I acquired the ability to purchase such things.

together , nearly 3 million tons of the highest quality coal in the world. 14000 BTU,
sulfur content was 2 times below the limit. While only having .6 % ash .
From the time I was 17 years old, I got up no later than 530 am . Drone to the site and talked to the guys about how they were doing and their families. Then I usually got on a 993 loader or the 994, loader I had at the lost creek mine . Ran it for 10 hours while also looking over everything. To see how much progress was being made.
If you read this far, thank you so much. There truly is reason behind everything I have written.
Have a nice day my friends

Back in the day my buddy Steve had one of these identical year and color. It was the quickest thing on the street back then nothing could even touch it. Blistering acceleration stop on a dime and drop dead good looks we used to take it to Fort Lauderdale strip on a Friday and Saturday night, to say we were sitting pretty was an understatement

Amazing looking car. Drove one back in the 80's - 930 factory steel slant nose in Guards Red like yours. It had so much red leather interior, it was hard to see out in bright sunlight. Hope you enjoy yours as much as I enjoyed driving this one. All the best.

Great video, I have a Guards Red 992 Turbo S which I love. However this Turbo is more appealing. I too have had 8 Porsches and my 992 is my favourite, although I am older, and so comfort and convenience are important to me.

I love owner spotlight car videos like this, another car channel used to do that too ( petrolicious ) here on YT, but since Covid hit it changed its content procedures there after and i stopped watching it. Owner spotlights are the best! pls keep them coming. You earned my sub!
