Garden Catastrophe Finally Rescued | This One Was Really Wild

OMG.....have I got a good one for you today. The owner of the property is one of my regular customers (mowing), and the side of her house had been growing wild for a few years. Last mow I noticed that it needed some serious work, so I offered to clean it up for free. The vines (not sure what they are) were planted as a fence line hedge/barrier, but they had engulfed the entire side of the house and were making a real mess of this area. We managed to clean it all up, remove a bit of rubbish and fixed what we could. Hopefully it will make ongoing maintenance a bit easier for my customer moving forward 🙂.

Workers on this job: George (long pants) & Brent (shorts).

FAQ's:

Q: Do you worry about snakes?
A: I have never even seen a snake in 4 years on the job.

Q: Where are you located?
A: We are from Hobart, Tasmania, Australia 🦘🦘🦘.

Q: Which equipment do you use?
A: We use mostly STIHL power equipment (battery and petrol) and commercial Honda self-propelled mowers.

Q: How much do the jobs cost?
A: Sorry, I prefer not to talk about costs!

Q: What happened to Nick?
A: Nick was offered a full-time position at his other job as a Political admin!

Q: Why don't you use tarps instead of cans?
A: Tarps are too difficult to move through small spaces and lift into the trailer. The same for wheelbarrows, they are only good for unloading the trailer!

Q: Why are the hot water cylinders outside?
A: I'm not really sure to be honest, maybe something to do with space & maintenance, but either way, it really is poor heat efficiency!

Q: Why are you cutting so close to your employee!
A: I'm not cutting too close to my workers, they are standing too close to where I am working! All of my workers have been told numerous times about standing too close to the tools and about the hazards involved!

Q: Why do your workers do all the lifting and carrying?
A: Basically, they are employed to carry things and I pay them well to do the job required.

Q: You work so well together, how do you do it?
A: That's the magic of editing. My workers are basically given instructions on what to do, I just edit it all out, so the videos look seamless!

I love the uncompromising approach to your work. Hangman's clothes line - sorted. Loose boards - sorted. Old doggy ramp - sorted. Every last leaf in the aircon - sorted. Big black spiders - sorted. And of course the massive overgrowth, odd bricks, bits of old wood etc. - all sorted!

If I were the owner, I would have removed all those bushes in the side yard, right down to the roots. The whole place looks fantastic. George, I know you work hard and Brent just blows my mind with his work ethic. Great job by a great team.

Excellent job, mates! It sure looks much better. I think if I were the homeowner, I'd paid you to go ahead and remove all the vines on the fence.

Amazing transformation and lots of hard, backbreaking work. Kudos to you both! Personally, I would have totally removed the hedge from the back corner of the house all along the steel fence up to the neighbors carport. The area where you did remove it looked so much better. 🏆

I thought I saw concrete next to the house as you two were clearing everything out of there. You probably helped the heat pump run more efficiently by giving more air space. Great job you two. Can’t believe how much yard waste that little area generated.

George and Brent, you both work on these properties like they were your own. You tackled this jungle like a bulldozer, you do not shy away from what needs to be done.

I'm amazed how many people plant hedges, shrubs and bushes in such narrow pathways along the sides of the house. What a nightmare to maintain! You guys did a fantastic job taming this jungle beast!!!

It must have been frustrating to maintain most of the property and just watch that massive overgrowth getting worse each week. As always, you work exceedingly well together and the result is second to none.

The home owners must be so happy they can finally get to that side of the house.

When I saw the opening footage of this yard.. I said “gonna like this one”..
what a amazing turn-around on this yard.. now it looks all balanced like the rest of the yard.. those hedges out the front could’ve done with some of your guys attention as well..
such an awesome transformation to watch while chill-laxing for the evening..
keep up the great work.. 💯💯💯💯
