Love the nurse's facial expressions. She smiles at first as if to say "Look, here's your daughter, isn't she adorable?". Then the way she stares after Mr. Wormwood- you half expect her to say "Fine, I'll keep her then!".

The shots of other parents cooing over babies on their way out of the car park makes the Wormwoods' reactions even more heartbreaking.

It’s crazy to think how Danny Devito and Rhea Perlman play the selfish, neglectful, dim-witted parents to Matilda but in real life they took care of Mara Wilson while the movie was being filmed (because Mara’s mother had cancer)

Omg one part that always weirded me out as a kid is the older brother rattling that toy in the car and his vacant expression. It just clicked that since that kid looks flushed and sweaty, its probably likely his parents left him in a hot car for who knows how long???? omg

I grew up on this movie, found it hilarious! I'm a mum now to 2 sweet babies and watching this now I'm fully shook... I just want to cuddle this fictional baby and love on her!

It was because of this scene that i thought babies are just picked off from the hospital since they didn't show the birthing scene 😅
Our neighbours had a baby infant when i was around 4 or 5 whom i adore so when they were going to move, i asked if i could keep their baby since they can get another one from the hospital 😂

Personally I think the Wormwoods didn’t even actually name their daughter. When asked if they picked out a name Zinnia might made a comment like “why bother” and one of the doctors said “I think she looks like a “Matilda””.
