Synopsis: This film adaptation of a Roald Dahl work tells the story of Matilda Wormwood (Mara Wilson), a gifted girl forced to put up with a crude, distant father (Danny DeVito) and mother (Rhea Perlman). Worse, Agatha Trunchbull (Pam Ferris), the evil principal at Matilda's school, is a terrifyingly strict bully. However, when Matilda realizes she has the power of telekinesis, she begins to defend her friends from Trunchbull's wrath and fight back against her unkind parents.

EXCELLENT trailer, AND film too!!
May not be EXACTLY like the musical one this year, but BOTH films are fab!!
Are BOTH Matilda films up On YouTube? They should be, as they both show how brave, clever and kind she is, and sufficiently able to stand up for herself.❤❤❤

In the 2009 sequel, Matilda is in her 20’s decided to move to LA, surpressed her powers and change her name into Summer. She works at a Greeting Card Company and met a guy name Tom.
