The building housing The National History Museum of Romania, located in the heart of the capital city, is a historical monument, named “Palatul Poştelor” (Postal Services Palace), inaugurated in 1900. The monumental building was built between 1894- 1899, in an eclectic style, with the stone façade featuring a portico supported by 10 Doric columns and decorated with many allegorical sculptural. The architect was inspired by the Palace of the Federal Post-Office of Geneva. The city's central post office operated in this palace until 1970 when the renovation works started in order to set up the National History Museum. Today the National History of Romania has a patrimony of over 650,000 pieces, exposed on a surface of over 8,000 square meters.
CEC Palace in Bucharest, Romania was built between 8 June 1897 and 1900, in eclectic style following the project of a French architect, Paul Gottereau while a Romanian architect, Ion Socolescu was in charge of executing the works. The beautiful architectural elements include 5 domes, a central one, made out of glass and metal, and another four domes in the corners of the Palace. The entrance is beautifully decorated by an arch supported by two pairs of columns in composite style.
Bucharest City Hall is housed in a beautiful building built between 1906 and 1910, in a traditional, neo-Romanian style, located opposite the Cișmigiu Gardens.
