Just finished re-watching lesson 20 as I got lost at a few parts. Was about to head to bed, when I saw this pop up! 2:43 AM and I'm still going strong for the Chili!

Actually, you wouldn't want to benchmark the text because it's part of the benchmark overhead. Like any other instrument of measurement, you want the instrument to influence the subject a little as possible.

:) thanks, anyway, question: What's the next tutorial going to be on? And how much more time until we go over how the framework works, I've kind of got it figured out... But not quite.

Suggestion: In the description, say what the next tutorial is going to be on, and maybe put the source on a pastebin doc, and paste the link... after all it is gpl ;)

There`s a flaw in that method of benchmarking tho, cuz what about the drawing functions for the text rendering? :x

This is both good and bad. It's good because in the long run you'll learn more, and know how to do things yourself. It's bad though, because it takes a long time to do simpler things

My intellisense is not working, even after pressing Ctrl+Space...any idea??

Thanks for the responce. For some reason my video card doesn't go beyond 24% load and since it downclocks itself when not loaded, it doesn't do well with rendering the stickfigures.

Hmm this benchmarking has either made me find a flaw in one of 2 things.. 1. my pc; 2. your framework. The issue being, when i run the application, the men are walking really fast, then they slow down and walk really fast, however the benchmark reads the same numbers as they would normally... This is confusing me, is it my GPU/CPU loading and rendering things in spikes, if anyone knows i'd like to hear, it's worrying me..

the array should be 512*84 (43008). if u use then alot of unused data would be allocated, which is not good (almost like a virus, cuz it will eat up your ram).

Chili, at 1:05:45 you get 14-16 ms from rendering 300 dudes, but i get 14-16 ms only if I render like 10 dudes :( Is this normal? My CPU is Pentium Dual Core @ 3, 4Ghz. What is your CPU?

This guy is amazing, if it weren't for him, I wouldn't know anything about DirectX, these tutorials have inspired me. But I have to disagree with your statement, he doesn't actually cut any retarded bullshit out, in fact a fair amount of the stuff he actually teaches you isn't "straight to the point". Take this tutorial for example, drawing text should be a painless thing to do, by creating a font object, and calling the DrawFont function. Instead he tells you how to do everything yourself.
