Zbrush Tutorial - Smart Resym HD

Sometimes when you’re sculpting in ZBrush, you can find that parts of your model isn’t symmetrical anymore. This happens more often that you would think and for various reason.

ZBrush has a powerful tool, Smart Resym, which allows you to transfer vertex detail from one side of your mesh to the other.

If you enjoyed this tutorial make sure you go ahead and check out FlippedNormals website / social media.

For what you have shown here, you would not even need smart resym. You could basically do the same thing you have shown with just mirror and then mirror and weld. You did not explain when smart resymm would be useful in the first place. It is when you have a subdivision history and you will want to keep when mirroring:

I find it useless most of the time because it doesn't work if you used dynamesh after the symmetry was turned of, 3D coat will Make a symmetrical model regardless of topology ;) Well most software will do so, but this is one of zbrush's weaknesses
