In 14 years since I first used it, I've never seen a zbrush video so perfectly capture the basics of sculpting in zbrush without being "scary" to someone who would be new to it. Very very well done.
There's been plenty of basics videos, but I feel like all of them had something that made people go "I'm not so sure I can grasp that." but the way you approached it, it doesn't make it look easy, but it makes it look attainable.

Can’t wait to watch this in full detail. The brush selection is for sure overwhelming for a new users

I love your easy to understand tutorial videos. While I have pretty decent experience in zbrush, looking at your videos has helped me improve my overall technique and how I approach projects more efficiently and with higher quality over the last few years.

The "smooth alt" brush has been really handy and will not destroy your primary forms. Also, Pablo sells a set of clay brushes and within that pack, there is a knife brush. I tend to use that other than the "dam standard" brush. I'll tend to use "dam standard" to refine the details at the end. These are some tips that have helped me recently. Great video Henning, thanks for the tips!

Once again the instruction here is second to none! Hoping to steal some of this quality for my own videos. Bravo!

That warm fuzzy feeling when you watch a video and already have the six recommended brushes hotkeyed! (plus one extra; Orb Cracks)

Just wanna chime in for the intro to sculpting course mentioned at the end of this video. I got it a few months ago and have gotten a TON out of it. Well worth the small investment for the knowledge you get out of it. Thank you for all the work Henning and the FlippedNormals crew! :)

I use the draw, draw sharp, grab, crease, and clay strips brushes in Blender. I also use nudge at 0 strength when using dyntopo to add/remove geometry

Clay Buildup - probably the king of brushes in ZBrush

thanks for that! The most important is the workflow for building the basic shape. One stage at the time, and use the less brushes as possible

The part about lowering the intensity of the clay buildup for a clean sculpt was really helpful, i was avoiding that brush because of the result i was getting. Thanks a lot!

About clay buildup: you can also decrease brush depth to 5 and lazy mouse step. Stairs will be removed.
