The "dark video game" the boyfriend was playing ended up being The Witcher. The person making the statement to the media was the local police chief and he likely was wildly unfamiliar with video games; thus inadvertently changing the name in his head to fit the narrative.

You brought up the sex offender registery, you remund me of the Sex Offender killer. He came from Canada with a list and used the sex offender registry to stalk his victims. In one day he left a trail of 5 victims and died in a hostage standoff in Boston... Im sure that would make a good podcast

Requiring someone selling a house to disclose that it's haunted isn't as silly as it seems. Even assuming ghosts don't exist, if your lights are flickering then there might be a problem with the wiring. Either something supernatural is wrong, or something mundane is wrong, either way, it's wrong and you should know about it before buying the house.

No joke, this might sound super lame, but to me stalkers are scarier than any monster or ghost; because they're so realistic, it's why stalking movies or home invasion movies freak me out more than supernatural or traditional horror tropes. Also I feel so damn bad for the family.

I mean yeah, the police are going to be proactive with an upper middle class family in a wealthy neighborhood. This isn't to disparage the fact that they were proactive, it is just frustrating that the police in the US have this nasty little tendency of only truly working hard when they are in the service of people with greater wealth then the average American.

Wait.. Did they test the DNA of the woman who said "it'll be nice to have some young blood in the neighbourhood"? I know they did not know about there being a womans DNA involved at that point but they should have written that incident down just in case.
