I also started out learning html and css and I hated it so much. I was bored to tears by it and I dreaded starting up those learning modules. I'm now in an associates program for network communications specialist and I find it to be very exciting.

I agree that IS and IT Analyst are the same thing. Job titles are so granular.

I was in a finance and accounting program for 3 semesters and I decided to transfer to IT.. I graduated honours with a business degree in information technology, the careers of IT is amazing and the salaries is outstanding as a System Administrator.
I recommend majoring in IT if you want a business degree, the starting wage after you graduate is excellent then if you graduate majoring in finance, accounting, or Human Resources

I really love computers! CSS, HTML, Javascript. All of them! They look so intriguing it excites me to the bone! Coding and messing a bit with notepad, is really fun! Learning this things is really fun! I like to dedicate my whole life or career to this kind of thing! I just love it.

You know the label jargon is bad when you forget you own work title.

What do you do?

I'm a- fuck I don't know. I just fix computers...

Good video, just a correction tho: There actually is a difference between CIO and CTO in some companies. If you're looking at a Product based tech company, the CIO is in charge of the "IT" stuff (managing the data, networks, servers, etc.), the CTO is actually head of engineering. So in a company like Honda for example, the CIO will be in charge of managing the data (e.g. sales) and the CTO will be in charge of the cars being design and built. Great video, regardless.

The most important thing is no matter what your job title is, users will seek you out of their printer stops working.

Im wasnt good at math but I followed thru with the reqs for CS major and now I am excellent in calculus. It helps with programming as far as logic goes but it is still somewhat hard to figure out coding solutions but its possible if you practice, get help, and stick to it. I still dont know if I want to be a programmer or go with IT security and databases...? Help! Lol

I like how majors and education programs are very specific in your country, like you can just take a college degree in short time and backup your career with important certificate like Cisco and microsoft certificate to start your career in ITs field. Here, I have studied computer engineering, which is very vague major with many missing important courses, although that my program is ABET accredited. I have graduated in June, realizing that I have no specific sharp skills, I only know a bit of everything, little electrical, little networking and some programming skills - not even developing as I'm not up to that level!-. When I graduated, a political and economical crisis happened, the market was and still suffering, and as a graduate with raw skills, nobody is willing to hire me :). I love coding and I'm good at it, but i'm not skilled enough to start my career as a junior developer because I didn't study web development, android or IOS, and even the software engineering course was hell because of my bad instructor and I didn't learn well, I feel that I have to learn by myself from free online courses and do some self projects. I really like self-learning and that doesn't bother me, what I hate is the fact that my B.Sc degree has not give me the proper knowledge to work a head in market, rather I still have much more work to do. My rockstar colleagues who have high GPA continued their master degree, and everyone else is still without a job. If I have a regret, is that I choose computer engineering rather that computer science, I really don't advice anyone to go for that major, unless you know really what you want and what you will do.

Thanks so much for your insight. I'm a year away from graduating and I had the interest conflict. But you have helped out greatly. Let me ask you, what do you think about Security in IT? I have been thinking about setting my sights in that area.

I would like an IT job that doesn’t require me to be onsite, potentially work from home. Is there such a thing? If so what certifications or degree do I need?
