I think Plo Koon would be next in line for grandmaster. Plo Koon is one of the oldest, wises, and caring jedi out there. He is more fit for that kind of responsibility.

Mace Windu is to faithful to the republic and jedi order, almost to a fault. He would cause more harm than good. Mace Windu hardly ever admits he's wrong, like after the council apologized for accusing her. Mace says "this was your great trail".

If Anakin set aside his pride and controled his emotions better he would be a great grandmaster. He would probably be grandmaster after Plo Koon.

The Republic was ~1000 years old by the time of the clone wars when it became the empire.
Yoda was almost 900 years old when he died.
He was present for almost the full lifecycle of the republic; rise, peak, decline, and fall.

It actually made me sad seeing dooku fall due to him becoming disenchanted with the jedis place within the senate. Then witnessing him kill Yaddle was so sad. She even gave up her spot on the council because she felt they'd lost their way. When she offered to go back with him and speak for him showed how awesome she was. I'd love to see her have her own show along with seeing yoda in his younger days.

Anakin would not have been Grandmaster, he was only on the Council because Palpatine ordered it, and was not even given the title of master.

I suspect the line would have been, in order, Mace Windu, Plo Koon, Ki-Adi Mundi, Shaak Ti, Obi-Wan Kenobi.

Would’ve been windu and he would’ve been a great grandmaster. If everyone listened to windu the Jedi would’ve survived the fall of the republic, if it even would’ve still fallen. In Tales of the Jedi, if Dooku followed Windu’s example and advice to adhere to protocol, he doesn’t kill the senator and maybe he wouldn’t have fallen to the dark side. In Episode 1, he says not to raise anakin as a Jedi bc he’s too emotional and he was right. In episode 2, he advocates to keep Jedi out of the war, which would’ve preserved multiple Jedi lives. In episode 3 he tells anakin to not intervene with the fight, and he was right. He then said Palpatine was too dangerous to be kept alive, which was absolutely true. He also never trusted the Senate, Palpatine, or the clone army in the first place. If anakin and the order had listened to windu it would’ve prevented order 66, thereby saving the Jedi, the republic, and millions of lives.

Grand Master? Anakin? I'd think it would have been a Jedi who had trained multiple padawans to master status like Windu, Mundi or Plo-Koon.
