The Postcard Journal WORKSHOP mentioned is here:

If you’ve tried keeping a travel sketchbook and ended up coming home with blank pages and regrets, you’re not the only one.

It’s a common problem with travel journaling, so I’m going to show you how choosing the right travel sketchbook can set you up for success and show you a variety of blank sketchbooks you can choose from to document your trip.

And make sure you watch until the end, because I’ll show you a bonus method of travel journaling that I call “thinking outside the sketchbook.” It’s for those times when you just want to try something different as a creative challenge.

Hi! I’m Lisa Sonora, a visual artist, author, and former art therapist.

I teach visual journaling as a way to get past the inner critic so you can make your art with confidence. Creating art can transform your life, but self-doubt and judgment make it hard to get started — and that’s why I teach Visual Journaling — a powerful creative practice that can disarm your inner critic and free you to make meaningful art with confidence.

That country song hit me right in the 💘 Story of my life.
I travel with company 99% of the time, so I realized it makes no sense to carry anything larger than a skinny travel booklet, or a small A6 watercolor sketchbook and minimal supplies. Heavier books just hurt my shoulders, and I rarely have a moment for myself to use them.
I pack a hardbound sketchbook when I expect to spend lots of time on the beach. Doing nothing is far more conducive for my journaling, than being out and about all day.

I agree about liking the smaller notebooks, after traveling or going out carrying heavy bags it’s just too much and I realized I want everything to fit in my pocket lol or a light bag. Smaller paper also feels less pressure and easier to fill and is more discreet. Personally I found I’m more comfortable using a medium to small sized sketchbook and used the larger less often.

Thank you so much for this inspiring video !
What could be a minimal supplies list to bring with us ?
I saw a lot of examples with painted pages. Are you preparing this before the trip or you bring this kind of art supplies with you ?
That’s why I’m asking what could be this kind of list about what I must bring with me considering airplane bagages?
Thanks a lot for your answer!
