Beautiful shop! You've done well for yourself young man! I own and operate (for over five decades) a four thousand square foot ground level custom wood & metal fabrication shop with another 2, 800 sq. ft. upper level (my shop has a 28' ceiling height so I went with a 10' upper level). I'm thinking now (at 73 years old) of downsizing to about 1, 000 sq. ft on the ground floor for a much smaller shop and renting out the rest of the building. Never wishing to retire, but would like to always have a smaller shop to fabricate and build projects. Just a nightmare trying to figure out which machines & tooling to keep. So hard to downsize over 6K of floorspace with a million dollars worth of machinery/tooling and fit the essentials in 1/6 the size shop. Sigh. But - you inspire me with what you've done, so glad I came across your channel - I initially viewed and commented on your rolling stool video! Thanks, mikey🙂

I have that same Vulcan welding cart. I can't believe I never thought of orienting two welders side by side across the SHORT way! I only saw side by side longways, so I had my MIG welder where its access door opened towards the tanks. Turning it 90 degrees like you have it so the access hatch opens to the same side as the cabinet doors and the front cables come out over the handle gave me a better idea where to place the cart in my garage, too.

This is a great shop tour, I dream of making something like that one day. Right now I am building house with 900 square feet garage/workshop and looking for inspirations, and yours is a great one.

I have two questions if I may - could you reveal the cost of the welding table (with/without accessories)? Also, how you approach rust protection on your projects? Rattlespray / spraygun? I am wondering if homemade powder coating is achievable and would it be worth it.

Welcome, I love my Crossfire table. That compressor is more than enough for the plasma table, but it must make the blast cabinet painful to use... lol
