Kelly slater is the best athlete of all time. It’s hard to comprehend but imagine if Tony hawk was still competing and winning today, with todays level of skateboarders. Or if Sean white was still winning competitions in 15 years from now in 2037. Or if Michael Phelps wins another gold metal in 3 or 4 Olympics from now. Kelly is amazing . I can’t believe he’s still relevant . His first pipe masters victory was 30 years ago . Before most his competition was born .

Growing up surfing on the Central Coast of California, and about a year and a half younger than Kelly, it has been a pleasure and I consider myself lucky to have watched him go from dominating the east coast (and national) amateur ranks and on to the most epic career the sport will likely ever see.

We’ve seen endless amazing moments from the GOAT…and some great memories for all of us along the way as we’ve taken this journey over these past few decades.

I was fortunate enough to have met Kelly and had a few minutes to chat with him at the Pebble Beach Pro-Am back in the mid-2000’s. He was engaging, friendly, gracious and kind enough to sign my CBS Sports access lanyard that I then gave to my first born daughter that was just a couple of years old at the time. She still has it and considers it amongst her prized possessions.

Kelly Slater is always nothing short of a class act and a fantastic ambassador for the sport…and for sports in general.

Congratulations, Champ…well deserved. Not just today’s incredible victory, but all of the accolades that are sure to come from this historic win as well. 🤙🏼

Truthfully though, what I’ve found most impressive as of late is your willingness to fight back with truth against the pharma madness that has become global totalitarianism.
