Happens sometimes. I remember a video where it was like that, and tower went like, "Well said sir, but maybe tell that your passengers as well. They might like to hear it too!" - "Ahrgh *bleep* seriously?!"

Actually, I was on board of a flight from Amsterdam to Toronto ones, about 2 years ago. The Captain did his Passenger announcement and moments later he asked for pushback on the P.A. with the Cabin. The purser (probably) replied back on the P.A. that he was not certain if there was any ATC on board. The Captain then replied, I remember it vividly: "Well I ask Ground then!"

A couple of months ago i was flying on Mastricht Control and a KLM did a PA first in Dutch and then in English. When he was done the frequency exploded in laughter/comments from everyone else! Best one was a dutch voice going: "The worlds most experienced airline, just had another experience!" - Killed me!

As told by mentour pilot in one of his videos, use your handheld mic for PA and the headset for RT. No confusion.

There are many like this. If your ever been a CFI giving dual instruction to a Student Pilot. It goes something like this:

Student to instructor while holding mic button to transmit...."I Want To Taxi What Do I Say? (CFI) Tell Him Your Ready To Taxi" Tower Cessna Is Ready To Taxi:

ATC Tower: keying mic button. "Ah The Cessna Wants To Taxi...What Do I Say? Tell Him To Taxi To The Runway. Still keying mic ...Ah Cessna You Can Taxi To Runway 32.

I was on this flight! It was delayed 2 hours and didn’t depart LAX until 2:30am. I did hear the pilot read this line for line to passengers as well, so I’m guessing he realized his mistake eventually. Lol

Two takeaways here: 1) the absence of any "uuuhhh" in the monologue, and 2) it was pretty concise. Others pilots should take note.
