Thank you for making this video. I have books on color and enjoy watching people, like yourself, on YouTube. I wanted to take the time to leave a comment (after I subscribed and 👍), because you gave me a key that unlocked a concept that before today, has been a locked door. Every book a person who teaches on color, has a vocabulary that I can’t remember. Hue, shades, tints etc. In one sentence you helped me. I’m referring to adding white or black. THANK YOU! Very much!

I just can’t seem to grasp this concept. I don’t understand to financial terms, and I don’t understand color. I hope this tool helps me know what to choose. I’ve outgrown quilt kits. I buy fabrics that I like, but then I don’t know how to combine. So far I’ve had very dull, boring Quilts or too much color and pattern. I know that there must be a rule or a formula. My daughter was born knowing what goes together! It’s a shame she lives so far away. I can sew very well. I just don’t know what to sew. Thank you for this video and the link to this tool. It says on your website there is a way to join Quilters way without $$s. I assume for a trial period. Would love to do that but there is no way to do that.

I really enjoyed that tutorial. I’m a hairdresser & an artist so I understand color but for some reason picking out fabric seems completely different. I have Sprittly blocks made....they are navy & cream. I’m having the hardest time picking out my borders & backing. The reason this wasn’t decided before hand is because I was just playing around. Now I have 30 12” blocks. Both colors would touch the first border so I’m HELP....ANYONE....🙏

This was very interesting. I have worked with color wheels before so I do get the general idea of them. What I would really like to know is, are there any color guidelines to particular quilt patterns? Like, for instance, I know that traditional log cabin blocks or squares have dark and light fabrics in them but while I have always liked pineapple squares, I don’t really know what the color theory is behind choosing fabrics for them. Is it always a background color every other row and what about the color rows? Are they light and dark too or just a mix of anything? I know you can do whatever the heck you want, but I’m asking if there is a traditional color scheme for a pineapple block let’s say, just for example. Thank you!😊
