The VK 540 has been sitting for three weeks. In that time we've gotten 3' of stop and record breaking cold. At least it was covered. Lets dig it out and go for a rip.

Here in Northern Canada we store our sleds with the back of the track off the ground so she doesn't freeze to the ground. Feel free to try that 👍👍

To all the trolls, for some people, these are tools, not toys. They get left in the elements until they're needed, and then are started and put to work. The sad fact is, lots of people don't treat their tools as well as they should. All that said, we ran the vk 540's at a major ski area, in the 90's and they thrived on the poor maintenance and I'll treatment. Stop criticizing when you don't know the entire situation. It's possible the circumstances didn't allow for all the kid glove treatment you would like to see. Different strokes for different folks.

Greetings from Ester, Alaska. I've had two VK 540s, best machines I ever owned . I store mine on a long pallet and put the cover on in spring. I also dump a bottle of isopropyl and some Sta-Bil and run around for ten minutes to get it into the bowl of the carb.

Poor belt.
My 480 phazers will fire up in those Temps and leave pretty easy on the ground.
But the VK is like double the weight.
Motors are bomb proof tho.

This coming summer, build a shed/carport in which to store your vehicles to keep snow off them during the winter months.

seize (motor lock ), belt blown, clutch scored, fouled plugs, this is why you #1 don’t leave your sled for that long without starting it even if you don’t go riding #2 don’t let snow pile up and around it for that long move it every once and a while so it’s on top of the snow and #3 so you don’t cause damage just some helpful advice sir
