Hayao Miyazaki’s Academy Award-winning animated feature film comes to life in this first-ever stage adaptation, full of dazzling sets, captivating musical numbers, and wondrous puppets of beloved characters. Adapted and directed by Tony Award-winner John Caird (Les Misérables), two unique casts and performances were filmed during the show’s acclaimed 2022 run at Tokyo’s historic Imperial Theatre, featuring Kanna Hashimoto and Mone Kamishiraishi as Chihiro.

STUDIO GHIBLI FEST is back in theaters and bigger than ever – highlighting all ten of Hayao Miyazaki’s iconic animated films with Studio Ghibli, as well as the first-ever North American screenings of SPIRITED AWAY: Live On Stage, featuring two separate full performances filmed during the production’s acclaimed run in Tokyo last year.

It’s a year of celebrating animation master Hayao Miyazaki with the first-ever nationwide retrospective of his Studio Ghibli works, including several anniversary titles: the 35th Anniversary screenings of My Neighbor Totoro, 15th Anniversary screenings of Ponyo, and 10th Anniversary screenings of The Wind Rises. STUDIO GHIBLI FEST 2023 has also added more screening dates than ever before to meet increased fan demand.

Each of the 10 animated features will be shown in both original Japanese and English dubbed versions and will include exclusive selections from the documentary series 10 Years With Hayao Miyazaki.

Mone Kamihiraishi won Japan's prestigious Yomiuri Theater Award for best actress for this production.
Even those who dislike live-action anime will be surprised at their own mistakes as soon as they see her chihiro.
After watching it, gentle tears will well up in your eyes.

Mone Kamishiraishi's Chihiro brings back vivid memories of Spirited Away that you saw long ago.
She is an actress who acts from her head to her toes. Romi Park, who plays Yubaba, is also the voice of Edward,
the protagonist of Fullmetal Alchemist, and in "Attack on Titan" she is the first-rate voice of Hanji Zoe.
Romi Park's Yubaba is also as good as the original. Exciting moments will come on April 27th and May 2nd. Come to the theater!

Mone delicately portrays Chihiro's facial expression, which changes as she grows up, crying and laughing as she confronts difficulties.
3 hours is never too long.
