The books of Maccabee and Jasher are suspicious to me only because of the occultic undertones that they have.
There is evidence that Jasher could have been written in the late 1200's to the early 1300's.
Other than that, I agree that the apocrypha books should be studied.

Protestant Reformers through them out of the Bible. Go figure.

They r good to read in that they contrast from the canon we have of the other 66 books of the Bible. The Macabees are the best as historical documents. The rest are not inspired by the Holy Spirit.
