The use of metaphors or analogies is a great way to assist the learner in assimilating or accommodating information into a current or new schema. There's a movement for the healthcare profession to use this approach with their patients to help inform them and become more active participants in managing their health. For example, making an analogy between an arthritic joint to a worn or rusty door hinge to help the patient understand why they are having pain and mobility issues.

This video is incredibly interesting. I've been playing around with the idea that people of different political leanings actually perceive reality differently. Specifically the second half of the video that goes over the memory experiment. i.e. Events are omitted from memory if they do not fit the world-schema of the subject, or if they are remembered, details/context change in order to fit that schema. I am interested to hear others' thoughts on this idea.

This is an interesting video. The War of the Ghosts experiment I would say is probably more of a reflection of the student defaultism and lack of awareness of other cultures than proof of how schema theory affects memory.
