My parents were basically the same way, telling me to do one thing then getting mad at me for doing it. I really tried my best for them but it always seemed like they would find something to be mad at me for while being easy on my older brother. Just left me feeling confused and self-loathing. I eventually stood up to them and had a resentment for them probably since High School. As I got older I learned to take nothing personal from anymore, even from parents, because they too have unhealed wounds from childhood.

I remember I did this shit once and then my parents said "well if your so grown you need to pay these bills, rent, and get a job" so I left the house and lived with my friends for like 5 weeks lmfao, it was amazing because I was usually not even aloud to go out with friends who weren't in the same religion as my parents (which non of my friends were)
