What is Wi-Fi Calling?

When your mobile network signal isn’t available, Wi-Fi calling lets you make and receive calls and send messages over a Wi-Fi connection.

For this feature to work, your phone must:

a) Be connected to a Wi-Fi network
b) Have an active SIM card inserted
c) Have Wi-Fi calling enabled with your network provider

There are two ways to activate Wi-Fi calling:

a) Through the Quick settings panel
b) Through the Phone app

To activate Wi-Fi Calling through the Quick settings panel, follow the steps below

1) Swipe down from the top of the screen twice to access your quick settings
2) Tap the Wi-Fi Calling icon to activate
To activate Wi-Fi Calling through the Phone app, follow the steps below
1) Go to the ‘Phone app’. Tap the ‘More options’ icon
2) Tap ‘Settings’
3) Tap the switch to activate Wi-Fi Calling
4) If a pop-up box appears asking you to enter your emergency contact information, review and enter the information requested and then press ‘Save’
To deactivate Wi-Fi Calling, tap the switch again.
