I just imagine all the marbles going "excuse me" "sorry" "pardon me" "excuse me" as they bump into each other.

Ive been in engineering for the better part of a decade. The evolution of this project has been inspiring to watch.

it is not redundant, this property is called robust.

6:25 The word you're looking for is "robust".

Redundant: can be omitted without loss of functionality.
Robust: Resistant to failure.

Redundancy is one way of making something robust, but a redundant component is not necessarily robust.

At 3:03 you can see that the vibration (or magnetism) of the marbles moving down the track was enough to free the stuck ones. Given how much the machine moves, this suggests that no marbles should get stuck.

Martin said "redundancy" a few times to refer to parts that work under a wide variety of conditions, but a better word would be "robust".

When Martin chooses 15°, but you were rooting for 20°

You could call it the "Marble diVader!"

Tip from soldering, if you ever have to use a lot of heat on something heat sensitive, use pliers or some other metal clamp on the part to divert heat from sensitive bits.

The suspense is killing me. I want this thing on the MMX!

I love this ASMR channel, but the guy keeps mentioning some weird machine; does anyone know why?

When this is installed on the machine, and it is running, shaking and vibrating, I don't think there will be any issues with marbles becoming stationary....

Hello, just a college guy majoring in Aeronautics Engineering here. Just some word, Redundancy is used when if, in case one part fails, the system as a whole would still be able to continue perform without noticeable degradation in performance. What you just shows in your marble divider, isn't redundancy, but a part with high level of tolerance, which means that any inaccuracy in input data(which in this case is the tilt angle), doesn't severely affecting the performance. Glad you finally finish the marble divider height problem Martin, and can't wait for you to install that in your machine!

DANG IT MY WELDING WAS TOO ACCURATE! I remember the first 30 episodes. What progress!

No moles in sight! Also I watched this having just made a load of pancakes for my daughter's birthday dinner. The first one wasn't great but the following 11 were all delicious.

When you're welding into something connected to a flammable/meltable material, stick a set of vice-grip pliers on the metal near were you're welding. It works as a heat-sink, more heat should go into the pliers.
