Recently, the Huangyu in Qinghai Lake has entered the peak period of migration, and thousands of Huangyu have started their migration journey.

In the Shaliu River, Quanji River and other rivers around Qinghai Lake, Huangyu are in groups and have entered the peak period of migration. As a unique species of Qinghai Lake, at this time of year, they have to swim upstream along the rivers entering the lake, crossing tens of kilometers or even hundreds of kilometers of water, and finally reach the upstream freshwater rivers to lay eggs and reproduce.

In addition to avoiding the predation of water birds such as cormorants and brown-headed gulls along the way, the migration journey of Huangyu also faces the challenges brought by weather changes and rising river water. In order to ensure the smooth migration and spawning of the Huangyu, staff at the local Huangyu rescue station will set up monitoring points in key migration channels, closely monitor the migration trends of the Huangyu, and take measures such as artificial insemination to increase the reproduction rate of the Huangyu.
