For those who dont understand the true meaning, he had a good relationship with the first girl and had great conversations and it was happy and not boring or surface level at all, but when they broke up (implied) he had to start over in the dating world, the question "whats your favorite color?" Being a bland surface level question, he misses the genuine connection he had with the first girl, and he used blue because it was a good element of sadness to convey the videos message.
